Kindness Action Network (KAN) Day - Coming Soon (Sat, April 11, 2026)

Join Altrusa Richardson for a meaningful morning of service, compassion, and community impact! Together, we’ll give back through a variety of hands-on service projects that support local and global causes.

Members Only: Set up at Friends Place - Friday night starting at 5:30 p.m. This will be setting up tables and getting the rooms ready for Saturday morning. It would be a good time to bring things like coffee pots, serving accessories, water, etc.

Members Only: Kindness morning at Friends Place - Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. This will be setting out the components for the projects and getting ready to open and get started at 9:00 a.m. We will need people to help clean and put Friends Place back together after the event as well.

Everyone: Join us for a morning of Kindness as we support the following organizations with a plethora of projects!

The projects are:

Days for Girls - An International Service Project to aid women and girls in depressed areas learn about their menstrual cycle and provide reusable kits for better hygiene during their periods.
New Friends New Life - A non-profit organization that helps those rescued from human trafficking rebuild their lives.
Military Service - Providing items and package "Grab Bags” for Blue Star Mothers to take to the Fisher House to distribute to wounded vets, and other items to go to the VA Hospital.
RISD – Make ‘Busy Bags’ for the RISD Intake Center to keep young children occupied while their parents ae filling out forms and older siblings are taking tests. The RISD Intake Center aids new students to the district in finding the best place for them to attend school as a new student.
Hope's Door New Beginnings Center: Making birthday bags filled with items for a child's birthday party. The bags are given to parents escaping family violence in order to provide a birthday celebration for their child.
Patriot Paws – making dog toys using plastic water bottles.
Warren Center - making pompoms for their upcoming event.

Scholarship Dinner

The Scholarship Dinner will be held April 16, 2026,

in Founders Hall at the Richardson Woman's Club.

6:30 p.m. for social time, meeting begins at 7:00 p.m.

Entree Options:

Regular: Beef Stroganoff, steamed vegetable medley.

Vegetarian: Quinoa Bowl (Tri-color quinoa, black olives, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, asparagus and pickled red onions).

Gluten-Free: Quinoa Bowl (Grilled chicken, tri-color quinoa, black olives, chickpeas, cherry tomatoes, asparagus, pickled red onions, and feta cheese)

All meals will be accmpanied by:

Garden Salad with Ranch dressing

Triple Chocolate cake

Cost per meal $42.00

Last day to register: Monday, April 13th

We do not have wine at the Scholarship dinner

Want to play bridge? Regardless of whether you're a novice or a seasoned player, we would love to have you join us in a monthly game, which is hosted by one of the players on a rotating basis.

Altrusa Bridge is held on the third Monday of every month. Social 6:30, bridge 7:00 pm. Each hostess will determine the number of tables she can host. Please register on the website no later than the second Monday of the month in order that we can line up subs if needed.

On April 22nd at 11:30 a.m., come join us for lunch at Las Lomas Mexican Cuisine, 520 Lockwood Dr., Ste 100, Richardson, TX 75080

Not only does Las Lomas serve Tex-Mex, they also serve Mexico City-type dishes that are fabulous. And the fun and fellowship with each other can't be beat. We made reservations for 12, so PLEASE REGISTER on the website by April 20th so we can provide the restaurant a more accurate cunt.
