Members and visitors are invited. This is a hands-on opportunity. Participants will trace template/patterns onto cotton fabric and will cut the pattern from the fabric.

Those who want to cut fabric should bring their own fabric scissors - all other materials will be provided. There will be opportunities for visiting, laughter and a pleasant time while we work. If you can only come for part of this time, that is fine also.

Friendship Day Sister Supper to Honor Our New Members

Tuesday, July 30, 2024, is United Nations International Friendship Day. Without friends, our world would be a lot more challenging. Whether you want to gather with friends, share a dinner with loved ones, or assist the impoverished, Friendship Day gives you a chance to promote social harmony, security, and peace.

This year, Richardson Altrusans are invited to gather for a Sister Supper at Desperados Mexican Restaurant, 3443 W Campbell Rd, Garland, TX 75044 from 5:00 to 7pm. We will honor our newest members and play a fun game around 5:20pm to get to know our newest members better and learn a little more about our seasoned members too.

It will be happy hour and Michael has given us the Thursday night special, $10.99 for chicken and $11.99 for beef Desperados Tacos. Friends and family members are welcome at this self-pay event. We look forward to a fun time learning more about our Altrusa sisters. Please sign up on the club website by July 29, 2024, so we have enough seating reserved. If you get out of work late, just come on, we will be having fun till 7pm.

The Warren Center will host the 31st Annual Fantasy Football Draft Night Event, Friday, August 23rd at The Sports Academy @ The Star in Frisco. Address: 800 Gaylord Parkway Ste 120 Frisco, Texas Dress:

The event is a fun draft party with entertainment, a silent auction and football fun, all while raising money for children's therapy.

Altrusa has been asked to provide volunteers. There are numerous volunteer jobs: help with check-in, greeters, set-up, tear down, silent auction, assistance, photo assistance and draft coordinators.

You do not have to know how to play Fantasy Football or know anything about football to volunteer. Training will be provided either the week before or the night of the event. (More details to follow.)

Dinner will be included and self-parking is free. A Fantasy Football Draft T=Shirt will be provided to wear at the event. Volunteers may wear jeans and sneakers.

You will receive your assignments upon arrival at 5 p.m. The event ends between 10 and 10:30.

We have outdoor and indoor decorations to organize and put out including inflatables and lights. If you have able bodies hubbies or big strong grandchildren please bring them along!
